Overview

We are seeking a licensed Medical Technician to join a hospital-based clinical laboratory supporting acute patient care. This role performs accurate and timely laboratory testing while maintaining compliance with quality control standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing according to established procedures

• Analyze proficiency testing samples within required timeframes

• Perform STAT testing and meet turnaround time expectations

• Apply sound judgment in the interpretation and correlation of patient results, including delta checks

• Perform and document quality control procedures per protocol

• Review pending and result logs and resolve outstanding workload issues

• Complete all required documentation related to patient testing and results

• Escalate critical values and laboratory concerns appropriately

• Assume departmental responsibilities in the absence of supervisory staff as needed

Qualifications

Required

• Associate degree in Science or related laboratory field

• Active Florida Medical Technician/Technologist License

• Licensure in one or more specialty areas, including:

  • Blood Bank

  • Chemistry

  • Hematology

  • Microbiology

  • Serology

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technician

• Generalist laboratory experience across multiple disciplines
