    Medical Technologist (Full-Time, Contract)

    • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
    • 40 hours/week
    • Onsite – Chicago, IL (VA Medical Center)
    • Contract Length: Up to 4 years

    We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist for a full-time, long-term opportunity with a federal healthcare system in Chicago. This role supports a dynamic laboratory team in delivering high-quality diagnostic testing for veterans.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform a full range of lab tests in chemistry, hematology, serology, microbiology, and immunohematology
    • Analyze specimens and identify/report abnormal or critical results
    • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and analyzers
    • Conduct phlebotomy when necessary
    • Ensure proper documentation within VA lab systems (VISTA/CPRS or Oracle Cerner)
    • Follow lab safety and compliance protocols
    • Support clerical functions and collaborate with healthcare team members

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (from NAACLS-accredited program)
    • ASCP or AMT certification (required)
    • Active LMT license in any U.S. state or territory
    • BLS certification from AHA (or equivalent)
    • At least 1 year of experience within the past 3 years
    • Proficiency in EHR systems and basic computer literacy
    • Strong command of English (verbal and written)
