Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join a hospital-based clinical laboratory supporting acute patient care. This role performs accurate and timely diagnostic testing across multiple laboratory disciplines while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing in accordance with established protocols

• Analyze proficiency testing samples and complete within required timeframes

• Perform STAT testing and meet defined turnaround time standards

• Correlate and interpret patient results using sound clinical judgment, including delta checks

• Perform quality control procedures and troubleshoot out-of-range results

• Review pending and result logs and resolve outstanding workload issues

• Document all testing and patient results accurately and completely

• Communicate critical values per policy and escalate issues appropriately

• Assume departmental responsibilities in the absence of supervisory staff as needed

Qualifications

Required

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist in an acute care or clinical laboratory setting

• Active Florida Medical Technologist License

• Licensure in one or more clinical laboratory specialty areas, including:

  • Blood Bank

  • Chemistry

  • Hematology

  • Microbiology

  • Serology

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science

• Generalist laboratory experience across multiple disciplines
