Job Overview

We are a licensed Florida Medicaid Home Health Agency preparing for Medicare certification and seeking an experienced Medicare Home Health Consultant to support our agency through the certification readiness process.

The consultant will work closely with leadership and clinical staff to ensure full compliance with CMS Medicare Conditions of Participation (42 CFR Part 484) and help position the agency for a successful initial Medicare survey. Salary is Negotiable .

This short-term engagement is designed to accelerate certification readiness, prevent deficiencies, and avoid repeat surveys.

Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities

🔹 Policy & Procedure Alignment

Review and update agency policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation

Identify gaps between current Medicaid practices and Medicare requirements

Provide clear recommendations and corrective action plans

🔹 Mock Medicare Survey

Conduct a comprehensive mock Medicare survey

Simulate CMS or accrediting organization survey expectations

Identify potential deficiencies and provide corrective guidance

Prepare leadership and staff for survey interviews

🔹 OASIS Review & Guidance

Review OASIS assessments for accuracy, compliance, and clinical integrity

Provide feedback on common errors and risk areas

Train staff on Medicare documentation standards related to OASIS

🔹 Staff Training & Education

Provide targeted training for:

Administrator

Director of Nursing

Clinical staff

Intake and care coordination staff

Educate staff on:

Medicare eligibility and skilled need requirements

Documentation best practices

Survey readiness and expectations

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Medicare Home Health Consultant

In-depth knowledge of CMS Medicare Conditions of Participation

Experience preparing agencies for:

Initial Medicare certification

ACHC, CHAP, or Joint Commission surveys (preferred)

Strong background in:

OASIS

QAPI

Survey readiness

Excellent communication and training skills

Familiarity with Florida home health regulations is a plus
