At Legacy Oaks of Sacramento, we are committed to providing exceptional care that prioritizes resident safety, dignity, and overall well-being. The Medication Technician plays a vital role in ensuring accurate medication assistance and supporting quality care for residents. If you are dependable, detail-oriented, and looking for an opportunity to grow in the senior living field, this position is for you.

The Medication Technician is responsible for assisting residents with the self-administration of medications in full compliance with RCFE Title 22 regulations. This includes maintaining accurate documentation in the Medication Administration Record (MAR), securing and organizing medications, and coordinating with physicians and pharmacies to clarify or update orders. The role also involves monitoring medication inventory, ordering refills, and properly disposing of discontinued medications according to policy.

In addition to medication responsibilities, the Medication Technician supports resident care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility. This position functions as a Level 3 Caregiver, which means you will also provide guidance and shift-level leadership to caregivers, ensuring tasks are completed in accordance with resident care plans and community standards. Documentation and communication are key components of this role, including completing incident reports, reporting changes in condition, and collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and community leadership.

To excel in this position, candidates must have successfully completed state-required RCFE medication training with a passing score of 90% or above, hold current First Aid and CPR certification (or be willing to obtain it), and meet all state health and safety requirements, including TB clearance, fingerprinting, and background checks. Candidates should also have strong organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 40 lbs., and be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Prior experience in senior care or healthcare is preferred but not required.

We offer competitive pay, guaranteed meal and rest breaks in compliance with California labor laws, and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including health coverage and paid time off. We also provide training and professional development opportunities to help you advance your career in senior care.

Legacy Oaks of Sacramento Assisted Living and Memory Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace. All candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check and reference verification prior to hire.
