Medio Labs (Medio.ai) is a pathology testing lab that uses next-generation sequencing and qPCR to deliver low-cost, fast-turnaround PCR tests for diagnostics. The company’s mission is to apply new AI-enhanced sequencing diagnostic technologies to a broad range of pathogens, dramatically reduce the cost of pathology testing, and radically expand access to the latest healthcare technologies. Significant R&D is occurring in the background of the diagnostics testing facility.
We are a diverse team of world experts looking to expand CLS technical staff. MedioLab technical staff hired through this call will function as the clinical molecular lab technician(s) operating within a High-Complexity Clinical Testing facility under the direct supervision of a clinical lab supervisor. They will perform CLIA regulated analytical diagnostic related tasks. Current assays are DNA sequencing based (Illumina PCR) and qPCR microbiology assays will be implemented within the coming weeks.
Common duties will include handling biohazardous materials, manual single and multichannel pipetting, semi-automated pipette handling, automated liquid handler management, PCR, qPCR, aseptic technique in BSC and laminar hoods, NGS library construction, Illumina High throughput sequencer operation, qPCR, familiarity with unidirectional laboratory flow and laboratory contamination concerns.
The employee will be given direction by the General Clinical Supervisor and considered under their management at all times. The employee will be trained and signed off on all clinical procedures by qualified clinical training personnel with competencies performed every six months on all procedures.
The employee will perform crucial duties in a BSL2 grade laboratory with strict compliant to CLIA and HIPAA regulations. Daily duties will include, but are not limited to, HIPAA compliant specimen sample intake, processing of samples to load through an automated diagnostic workflow, proper deviation documentation, and record keeping in the Laboratory Information Management System. Waste processing and lab inventory duties will also be shared with other staff.
Knowledge and Skills (typically required of the position)
REQUIRED Education and Training for the Position:
CLS generalist or G-CMBS License (California)
Hourly Position (Pay commensurate with licensure and/or experience)
Monday through Saturday (assume Friday/Saturday/Monday/Tuesday, some Sundays)
Hiring multiple CLS for day and evening shifts
Day shift: 8am - 5pm
Evening shift: 3pm - 12am
Holidays required (Overtime and Holiday Pay Provided)
