    100% REMOTE

    Medix is currently seeking a SENIOR DATA ENGINEER for a DIRECT HIRE job opportunity with one of our top HEALTHCARE clients, based in Baltimore, Maryland. This position is 100% REMOTE, so no need to go onsite!

    ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS POSITION

    Our client is a top academic medical center based in Baltimore, Maryland. They're in the midst of a huge research initiative, and have a need to bring on several Senior Data Engineers onto their team. Our client is currently on-prem in a Linux environment, and are looking for individuals with strong experience with PostgreSQL, ETL, and programming in Python.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Keep track of infrastructure and systems to ensure that they meet business requirements and best practices
    • Gather and process raw data, write scripts, APIs, SQL queries
    • Gather analyze, document and translate application requirements into data models
    • Research and come up with opportunities for new and existing data acquisition
    • Code, test and document new or modified data systems to create applications for analytics
    • Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
    • Expand and grow data platform capabilities to solve new data problems
    • Develop new data flow diagrams for business departments
    • Build automation tools to ensure automation processes preserve data
    • Manage the alignment of data availability and integration processes
    • Perform research to define requirements, resolve issues and improve performance of the technology
    • Support documentation and standardization practices related to data and applications
    • Develop Relational Data Models, Dimensional Data Models, Data Dictionary and Metadata.
    • Develop data set processes for data mining and production
    • Work closely with data integration developers and data scientists
    • Design and build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models and proof of concepts
    • Works closely with our developer team to integrate innovative algorithms into our production systems.
    • Assess and provide recommendations on business relevance, appropriate timing and deployment.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences or closely related field
    • 7+ years' experience in data engineering
    • PostgreSQL and NoSQL experience
    • Linux experience
