    Job Description

From the moment a person reaches out to us, our goal is to impress them beyond expectation and redefine what furniture shopping can be through our online website. The role of Customer Service Associate is an integral part of this foundation. We would love to bring someone in that is passionate about design and can help us continue our forward momentum. The Customer Service Associate’s role provides customers with a helpful shopping experience by utilizing excellent customer service and in-depth product knowledge. This position is working entirely from home, and the main role is to handle all new leads and existing customers that come through our online website including emails, chat and phone calls. For new leads, the position would answer initial questions about Medley and our products, and then work with our Furniture Stylist to pass along the new customer when the get to that stage of the purchase process. For existing customers, they can help answer immediate questions about timing and shipping, and then pass along to the Operations team if further investigation is needed.

    The Customer Service Associate should be likable, smart, self-sufficient, highly organized and enjoy attention to detail. This position is ideal for someone who is kind, likes people, and wants to join a growing furniture movement as a key member of the Medley team.

We handcraft each piece of furniture one at a time, using select, eco-friendly materials in Los Angeles. Customers can customize their piece to the inch and choose from a variety of options perfecting comfort and size for their space. Medley sells direct to consumers to keep pricing lower; while still manufacturing in the US allowing us to oversee quality and craftsmanship. We offer design help, along with free in-home trials making sure every customer loves their purchase. With over a decade of experience, we’ve built an innovative company that provides a better way for people to shop for furniture.

    Our entire company provides support for customers, and we work as a team to get things done and make a difference. Instead of an individualistic mentality, we believe in working together to achieve success on a micro and macro level.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

      • Sell a variety of furniture from our collection. Sales are done via email, phone, and online chat

        • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients which can include general public, designers, stylists, contractors, and architects

        • Answer detailed questions about our company and products, including technical ones about eco-friendly materials and furniture craftsmanship

        • Work with owners to ensure the customer experience aligns with the overall mission of the company

        • Work with our operations team to address relevant issues when they arise

        • Buildout strategies and testing for sales channels to improve our conversion rates

        • Help create and evolve text for newsletters and blog articles to increase branding presence

    QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Minimum 1 year retail or customer service experience in sales or complementary role

        • Comfortable working within the world of design and decor

        • A strong passion for providing a positive experiences for others

        • Organized, with high attention to detail

        • Planning and time management skills to execute multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize projects

        • Focus on execution, problem solving, and improving processes

        • Ability to work independently and driven by entrepreneurial spirit

        • Effective communication with customers and Medley team members

        • Comfortable with technology including programs such as Shopify, Drift, Streak CRM, Gmail, and Google Docs

        • Bachelor's Degree preferred
