    JOB SUMMARY Responsible for creating job routers and detailed assembly work instructions following all applicable Manufacturing Engineering procedures.  Participates in work cell daily management (DLA) as a key team member.  Be able to identify and improve manufacturing trouble spots.  Follow AS9100 procedures and in some cases provide training to others on these procedures. Provide hands-on skill training and guidance to manufacturing personnel.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    " Identifies error-proofing needs and implements solutions including needed tooling and detailed assembly work instructions (AWI). " Creates CostPoint job routers including any standard text required. " Updates job routers and assembly work instructions as needed in response to released engineering change notices (ECN). " Analyzes and plans space requirements and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. " Confers with design engineers concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.  Includes recommending drawing changes to reduce cost, improve quality and improve DFM. " Design tools and fixtures as needed and coordinates with purchasing or in-house sources to complete fixtures and tools. " Estimates production times and time standards to provide information for management decisions and proposals. " Documents detailed manufacturing procedures and part-specific work instructions. " ESD & FOD protocols. " Provide input to manufacturing corrective actions, and root cause analysis for FIR and CRN reporting. " Responsible for BOM coding (make or buy decisions and assigning commodity codes) and manufacturing lead times in Costpoint. " May be assigned to assist other departments. " May require interaction with Customers and Suppliers. " May work with suppliers to determine product specifications, evaluate processes and capabilities and train them on lean techniques. " Occasional travel may be required. " Must be a US Citizen

    EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S./BSc) in Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university or equivalent; and 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training working in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience.

     

    Expected to be a subject-matter expert in one or more of the following disciplines:

    " Circuit Cards Assemblies " J-STD-001, IPC " Cable/Harness Assemblies, Mil connectors " Conductive Bonding " Environmental & Test equipment " RF & Fiber optics " ESD " Corrective Action, Preventive Action, Root Cause Analysis, Failure Investigation " Will be called upon to train others
