BUSINESS SERVICES invites applications for a CASHIER II to join their team. This position is a non-supervisory position primarily responsible for receiving and data entry of information associated with student payments and campus deposits for the University of Montana (UM). The Cashier II is expected to provide exceptional customer service and accurate information to students, parents and internal staff regarding tuition and fees, as well as UM and Business Services policies and procedures. The individual in this position must possess strong communication skills, and a positive, professional attitude when dealing with all types of customers (both internal and external).
The Cashier II is responsible for accurate cash handling, balancing and reconciliation of accounts, processing of student payments, credit card payments and Treasury deposits. This position consults, collaborates, and works closely with Student Account Services, Financial Aid, Registrar, Graduate School, Office of Student Success, Admissions/Enrollment Services, and other campus departments to meet the needs of students, staff, faculty. The Cashier II ensures compliance with applicable policies and regulations in order to conduct business and ensure internal controls for UM.
The Cashier II is responsible for the tracking, processing and delivery of all checks received in Treasury, including, but not all inclusive, NelNet and MT State Warrant refund checks returned undeliverable, short term loan checks, private loan checks, and miscellaneous scholarship checks.

WORK SCHEDULE Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year
SALARY: $14.038/HR. Current employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department.
