JOB SUMMARY
The position shall support the business needs pertaining to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies (including best practices) at the local, state, and company level. Implements, leads, and maintains an effective Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental program. Individual will be responsible for leading all aspects of the HSE function including, but are not limited to the following:
Manage hazardous waste process, classifying chemicals and managing waste management program as it relates to materials and chemicals used in facility
Compliance with all applicable Federal (MD-OSHA, EPA, DOT), State (MDEQ) and local regulations and requirements
HSE training needs assessment, development, and execution OHS risk assessments and Safety FMEAs Incident and injury record keeping, reporting, and incident investigation and response.
Safety and environmental audits and inspection
Unsafe condition and near miss reporting and investigation
Coordination of Industrial Hygiene assessments and monitoring
Occupational Health assessments applicable to the industry
Support workers compensation program
Development of policies and procedures
Risk reduction programs, such as machine guarding upgrades and ergonomics Waste handling and minimization

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position involves sitting, standing and/or walking. Position requires ability to frequently exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects.
The work site is an industrial manufacturing operation and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required in some aspects of the role.
Work usually performed in air-conditioned office environment.
