Licensed Clinical Social Worker
The North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking an EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS MANAGER to provide support and leadership of the Emergency Preparedness Department within its project program area. The Emergency Preparedness Department’s goal is to develop enhancing lasting partnerships and proactive Emergency Preparedness initiatives through advocacy, communication, and collaboration.
The EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS MANAGER will manage complex emergency preparedness, mitigation, and homeland security programs, projects and activities under minimal supervision. This is accomplished by managing programs and projects; supervising professional, technical, and administrative personnel; assisting with the overall management of the department to include; establishing, managing, and supervising the implementation of short and long range goals and objectives as well as recommending and implementing the department’s annual budget. Other duties include supporting various committees; representing the Department and Director at various times, and assisting the Director of Emergency Preparedness.

The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to not only monitor staff performance but also to mentor and motivate staff. Must have the capability and be comfortable delegating and holding staff accountable for existing projects and new project ideas. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required along with a record of success working with outside officials, direct reports and upper-level managers. Must also demonstrate experience in managing budgetary and financial matters and possess an entrepreneurial spirit and attitude with a creative capacity to manage current programs and pursue new programs and funding. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Required Experience
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Public Administration, Emergency Management or in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
STARTING SALARY: $83,991 - $96,589 depending on skills and qualifications.
