The North Central Texas Council of Governments Transportation Department is seeking an entry- or mid-level Transportation Planner to support the implementation of transit projects and mobility management activities. This position will work with public and private transportation providers, local governments, communities, and other stakeholders. In addition, responsibilities include preparing presentations, correspondence, documentation, articles, and reports. This posting is for the entry-level Transportation Planner I position. RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION AND MANAGEMENT:

• Assisting in the implementation of transit-focused strategies outlined in Access North Texas (accessnorthtexas.org)
• Assisting in the oversight of the regional vanpool program including operational processes, program budget, invoice activities, agreement development activities, and program assessment activities
• Assisting in the development and administration of procurements that support the needs of regional vanpool providers
• Assisting with the coordination, implementation, and management of short-term transit-related projects by tracking project progress, goals, and deliverables
• Assisting with building supportive community networks

PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION AND REPORTING:

• Assisting with the collection of various transit- and vanpool-related performance measures
• Assisting with the development and maintenance of databases, project listings, and funding awards for the purpose of project administration, monitoring, and tracking

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Drafting technical and project status reports for supervisor review
• Assisting with the provision of technical assistance and support within the agency and to external partners
• Assisting with oversight and compliance activities consistent with grantor program guidelines
• Assisting with the research, analysis and interpretation of federal, State and local regulations pertaining to transportation planning, funding, and implementation

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in analytical and quantitative methods (Transportation Planning, Urban/Regional Planning, Public Administration, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related area)
• One year of job-related experience or less

SALARY

Minimum of $36,976.00 annually
