    Job Description

Here at MELA Group we focus on personal and professional growth for the individual as well as the business. We provide a challenging fast-paced learning environment for people willing to apply themselves and make the adjustments required to reach a high level position in the company. We hire all applicants at the entry level and promote within so that we have confidence in their abilities and the amount of knowledge they can retain and teach about our business—whether it’s about the basic sales positions, the management training program, the variety of clients we interact with, or the standards we set to meet their annual requirements. We are searching for people who aren’t afraid of breaking past the traditional glass ceiling of the average modern day profession.

    MISSION STATEMENT

Where many jobs train you for a specific position and do not aim to promote their employees, we aim specifically for the growth and development of our staff. All entry level applicants are trained and developed toward training positions—followed by the assistant manager position. MELA Group began in an office based out of San Diego and has since been a business involved in multiple cities in California: Long Beach, San Bernardino, Thousand Oaks, and Riverside—just to name a few. Our goal is to further expand our market, exceed the target projections expected by our clients, and open new offices in Orange County, Bakersfield, Los Angeles, and Sacramento.

    CORE VALUES

Reliability: We want someone we can depend on. We do not accept inconsistent attendance without warning or a discussion about conflicts with our schedule beforehand. We respect everyone that we hire and give everyone a fair shot at an opportunity to better themselves, so we expect the same amount of respect out of our new hires. We want someone who wants the chance at a better future, someone who understands that being on time, prepared for the day, and asking questions is going to set them on a faster pace toward their goals.

Honesty: We value honesty above all else. We are honest about the position, honest about the expectations of our clients, honest about the level of responsibility that comes with our campaign and we ask for the same honesty from those who join our team. We want people that are willing to work to achieve their goals and willing to own up to their mistakes and grow from them so that we can see the progression from entry level to management.

Commitment: This position is not easy. It’s simple, it’s easy to understand, but this does not imply that it is easy to do. We do not ask anyone to dedicate years of their life to this campaign. What we ask of interested applicants is to give themselves six weeks to decide if our goals and our values match their own, if our office is the right space for them to develop their career and the careers of others. That’s 6 weeks with a base pay of $600 a week. If at the end of those 6 weeks our new hires genuinely feel that they’ve noticed no progression in their demeanor or abilities, then we wish them the best in finding a profession more suitable for their personality type—we want our team members’ happiness above all, but we value commitment. We would rather hire someone who is driven enough to fully challenge themselves to succeed, even in a field they’re unfamiliar with, than someone who’s intimidated by the thought of growth from the moment they apply. It’s a skill that can be learned, but one that’s difficult to teach.

    PAY STRUCTURE

The entry level position provides a base pay rate of $600 a week plus commission. Entry level staff earn anywhere between $600-$700 weekly. In this position, we coach new hires to understand the basics of sales, to hit target goals set by our clients, to learn the daily routines of the office and our schedule, and to present themselves with a professional demeanor and image in front of our client and customer base.

After 2-6 weeks in this position, depending on their learning curve, new hires are promoted to the Account Director position. In this position, they will learn to take interviews, to train other people, to coach and develop someone into gaining and maintaining the same skill set and professionalism they learned from their trainers. This position will challenge each individual to teach aspects and methods of the business to a group of people, to command a room, to make business decisions, and to learn to build upon people’s strengths to help them overcome their weaknesses. While at this position, they will earn anywhere between $700-$900 per week. This position lasts longer; people often don’t have both the knowledge of our business and the ability to coach and develop people into the best version of themselves when they first start, so people normally stay at this position for 5 to 7 months.

Once someone is promoted to the assistant manager position, they are permanently in the office. They no longer have to engage in the sales aspect of the business; they stay in the office and take conference calls, manage our recruiting admins, screen resumes and first round applicants, learn inventory, production, payroll—we teach them how to manage back end business while still keeping track of our sales teams and ensuring that their progression remains at a steady pace. This position generates anywhere between $1,100-$1,900 in weekly income and comes with a lot of responsibility, but it sets all of our staff on a realistic pace to achieve both their financial and career goals within their first two years in the business.

    REQUIREMENTS

There is no prior marketing, sales, or management experience required for this position. Here at MELA Group we strive to build up our employees into the best version of themselves. We only promote within. We reward those who have a great student mentality, a strong work ethic, and an ability to take on challenges. There are no specific educational requirements either; we accept and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. However, those with the abilities listed in our IDEAL APPLICANT QUALITIES section will be awarded priority scheduling.

Our office is currently based in the downtown Riverside area, so local applicants and residents in neighboring cities are highly encouraged to apply. We look forward to meeting you!
