Job Description

• Provides social work and case management services to patients on the adult inpatient psychiatric unit, based on local and national Professional Social Work Standards and Code of Ethics.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, or similar from an accredited school or university.

EXPERIENCE:

• LICSW or LMHC required. 
• Candidates that are eligible for independent state licensure within 6 months of hire may be considered. 
• Previous experience in inpatient psychiatry or mental health setting working with major mental illness and substance abuse diagnoses required.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to engage a wide variety of patients and collaterals in the acute treatment and discharge planning process.
• Ability to identify and access community resources.
