  • Responsibilities

    Meltek Inc. is a pre-seed Cleantech startup whose mission is to expand reliable access to renewable energy resources in the United States and abroad. By enabling homeowners and small businesses to optimize their renewable energy and storage systems Meltek will empower more homeowners and small businesses across the United States to save money on electrical costs while enjoying greater access to clean energy.

    ROLE –

    • Assist leadership and other developers to plan, architect, and develop applications used to monitor and manage equipment and access, manage and store data intended to enhance and optimize the installation and usage of renewable energy resources and energy storage.

    RESPONSIBILITIES –

    • Design platform architecture with inputs from product management

    • Fine-tune energy optimization algorithms

    • Interface the SCADA/EMS engine with visualization tools for the UI/UX

    • Implement CI/CD protocols and code

    • Manage database efforts

    • Determine inputs required to provide marketing’s desired outputs

    • Develop functions, applications, and coding to provide required outputs and control

    • Develop and optimize interfaces between various databases and applications

    • Develop interfaces between internal systems, external systems, and users

    TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS –

    • BS/MS in ECE or related field
    • Knowledge of EMS or SCADA systems
    • Experience developing a product from scratch
    • Understand full stack of technologies from backend to frontend, including but not limited to Python, MatLab, JavaScript and SQL
    • Familiarity with the entire software development lifecycle
    • Working knowledge of full-stack development, SCADA, HMI, MMI, and EMS

    PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS –

    • Clear, precise communications needed for fully remote work

    • Disciplined self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset

    • Understanding of product development and team leadership

    • Proactive in seeking solutions to difficult technical problems

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills

    LOCATION: Remote

    NOTE: This position will be funded through the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) Clean Energy Internship Program (Link). Only New York State-based applicants will be considered.
