$175,000 – $275,000 USD per year

Job Description

As a Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in architecting and building backend services, automating workflows, and scaling data infrastructure. This role involves moving fast in an ambiguous, early-stage environment while owning core systems that power both the product and internal development workflows. The position blends backend engineering with infrastructure ownership.

Responsibilities

• Set up inference and API serving infrastructure at scale, supporting millions of client requests

• Build scalable systems to ingest, process, and retrieve data from the web, files, and other sources

• Develop systems that run AI agents, generate synthetic data, and evaluate data quality

• Build internal services and tooling to improve system scalability and reliability

• Collaborate closely with technical and creative stakeholders to design and implement AI-driven features

Qualifications

• Strong background in cloud infrastructure, systems design, and automation

• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and tooling

• Familiarity with AI/LLM-powered and embedding-based systems

• Experience with web scraping, data extraction, and large-scale data processing

• Strong proficiency in Python
