General Purpose
Seeking Membership Assistant/Data Entry Clerk for immediate hire onsite. Pay is $23/hour.
The Membership Assistant/Data Entry Clerk position provides general administrative and clerical support daily for the Membership Department and handles phone inquiries as needed. The position manages multiple data entry tasks.
The Membership Assistant/Data Entry Clerk is a full-time, salaried position. Permanent compensation package includes vacation, sick leave, personal days, holidays, and other employee benefits, as well as free parking in secure garage in downtown Austin.
TRTA is a non-smoking office environment. Dress code is business casual attire.
Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise specified by the Executive Director or Deputy Director. This position will require daily in-person presence at TRTA’s downtown Austin office.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
Performs multiple administrative and data entry tasks daily including but not limited to alphabetizing, sorting batches, scanning, processing membership applications, creating new member accounts, entering memberships into IMIS database, and logging checks.
Performs basic database maintenance, such as locating duplicates and merging member accounts, and resolving paid-through dates with dues payments.
Answers inquiries from TRTA members by phone and email, including but not limited to resetting usernames and passwords, accepting dues payments, answering questions about member benefits, updating member contact information, and managing member requests.
Assists key Membership Department personnel with Day at the Capitol and Convention registration, and delegate designation for House of Delegates.
Serves as back-up to primary receptionist as needed, to include answering multi-line telephone system and taking and relaying messages for staff members while maintaining professional courtesy.
Performs special projects and runs membership reports as requested for other departments, such as the Accounting and Communications Departments.
Other duties as assigned by Executive Director or Deputy Director.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred, Associate’s degree required
Experience using IMIS database or similar database program required
Advanced Knowledge of customer service principles and practices required
Advanced knowledge of data entry, administrative, and clerical procedures required
Experience managing a multi-phone line system preferred
Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google Docs and Google Calendar required
Spanish-speaking preferred
