Job Title: Membership Coordinator Reports To: Connections Pastor & Director of Ministry Coordinators Time Status: Full Time Classification: Support Staff
SUMMARY: Life @ Grace, Membership, Baptisms The Membership Coordinator provides various broad-based support services for the ministries of Grace Baptist Church. This position organizes the office's activities and functions for Life @ Grace, Membership and Baptisms under the Connections Pastor and coordinates information flow to other ministry areas.
• With attention to detail and accuracy, organize and manage membership, baptisms, and Life @ Grace. • Timely process and communicate membership letters, first-time guest information, and baptism certificates. • Maintain accurate membership covenant records in Shelby Membership. • Maintain accurate prospect records in Shelby Membership. • Coordinate baptisms for GBC (including large church events) and GCA All-School Chapels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to: • Assist with the Connections Pastor to schedule and prepare for Life @ Grace. • Ensure all necessary resources and logistics are managed effectively for church membership and baptisms. • Manage baptism details (and volunteers) for GBC and GCA events. • Alongside the Connections Pastor and Women’s Ministry Director, help coordinate counselors for Life at Grace events and large community outreach initiatives. • Greet guests and anyone needing counseling at the counseling kiosk on Sunday. • Enter all purchase orders for membership activities and assist in ordering for special events. • Help with reception desk and office duties, as needed. • Attend All-Staff meetings and any other meetings and training seminars as requested. • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: • GPS Certified (Grow in a Group; Participate in Worship; Serve Others) • A demonstrated ability to maintain sensitive and confidential church information. • Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and have a lifestyle that demonstrates obedience. • A member of Grace Baptist Church. • Committed to the core values of the church. • Committed to biblical tithing (a minimum of 10% of gross income). • Ability to perform services independently, without direct supervision, as well as work cohesively within a team environment. • A positive attitude at all times and poise under pressure. • Knowledge and principles of preparing correspondence, forms, reports, etc. • Knowledge of principles and procedures of record-keeping and filing systems. • High attention to detail and accuracy with complete follow-through. • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. • Basic understanding of office organization, operations, office equipment, and methods. • Proficient in all Windows-based software. • Excellent organizational skills. • Good English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary skills. • Knowledge of and experience normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or job training and experience that qualifies for the position.
