The Staffing Specialist conducts, manages and oversees all recruiting activities for designated positions in specific markets/locations; including posting, sourcing, screening, pre-qualifying, tracking candidates and compiling and reporting recruitment data.
Major Responsibilities:
- Actively recruits assigned positions; proactively pursuing and qualifying “A” level candidates for key positions; coordinating all sourcing efforts to ensure timely presentation of quality candidate pool.
- Develop and manage external recruiting resources and relationships; actively developing candidate pool from competitors, colleges, community and professional organizations, vendors and other candidate resources.
- Ensure all internal and external candidates engaged in the recruiting process undergo a highly professional and positive recruitment experience.
- Establish recruiting support with assigned internal customers, departmental businesses and department leaders; understand, anticipate future departmental needs and determine recruitment efforts to focus on shortened position fill time and stronger candidate pool.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies, resources and tools ensuring BMC attracts and retains high-quality candidates utilizing low cost and cost effective recruitment avenues are expanded.
- Coordinate outside recruitment efforts with recruitment firms, staffing agencies and county employment agencies.
- Effectively communicate with diverse levels of customers, vendors and associates.
- Align and implement recruitment metrics and standards; coordinate compilation of required reporting; successfully achieve deadlines and fill time goals. Reporting to Sr. Leadership on a regular basis.
- Utilize ATS (Application Tracking System) and other related systems to efficiently manage recruitment process.
- Develop and implement a candidate pipeline process to ensure a pool of talent is available.
- Monitor and analyze recruitment trends; bench-marking BMC’s efforts against competitors and global marketplace to ensure our competitive edge in recruiting and attracting outstanding candidate pool.
- Attend recruitment and industry functions; including participating in career fairs, networking events, business meetings and college campuses, presenting a business leading, professional and forward thinking organization.
- Ensure regular outreach to candidates, contact information and position list.
- Assist in the development of programs to develop internal talent for key roles in order to ensure consistent pipeline of talent, to include Apprenticeship programs, etc.

Required Skills
- Minimum education required: Bachelors in Business, Communications or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Advanced communication skills; verbal, written and presentation skills. Ability to develop and cultivate relationships with potential recruitment resources and contacts on a regional basis.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, consult and negotiate. Ability to analyze and evaluate skill sets.
- Experience working in a distributed service environment with high paced recruitment for hard-to-fill roles.
- Spanish speaking a plus.
- MS Office and Computer literate.
Required Experience
Minimum experience required: 3-5 Plus years non-exempt level recruiting, experienced in recruitment of specialized fields in construction, sales, building supply, manufacturing, distribution or related businesses.
