    Works independently, performing all tasks related to the reprocessing and sterilization of surgical instruments.  These tasks include maintenance, decontamination, prepping, sterilization and proper handling and storage

    Required Skills

      1. Ability to read and write in the English language.
      1. Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
      1. Good Organizational and interpersonal skills.
      1. Knowledge of medical terminology.
      1. Advanced Computer skills.
      1. Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.

    Required Experience

    • High school graduate or equivalent
    • LA City fire card within 6 months of employment
    • One (1) year of experience in acute health care
    • IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management) certification preferred
    • Previous experience in sterile processing preferred
    • Knowledge of surgical instruments and their use
    • Knowledge of supplies and equipment used during sterile processing
