North Haven Surgery center is a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center that has demonstrated excellence in patient care. We are seeking an operating room RN to join our staff in a per diem/PRN capacity.

A circulating nurse is an important part of the surgical team in an operating room. In addition to preparing the operating room, they check the stock of supplies and instruments. Problem-solving is a regular duty of a circulating nurse. Equipment must be checked and double-checked, as well as ensure proper patient safety measures are being executed. A circulating nurse is like being an athletic coach. From pre-op to post-op, the circulating nurse ensures everyone works together as a team. Attention to detail and a strong desire to act as a patient advocate are important aspects of this position. A top priority of a circulating nurse is to serve as a champion for the surgery patient. If you are someone with a desire to champion a team and provide excellent patient care, we want to meet you.

Required Skills

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. * Minimum Three years previous OR experience * Current Connecticut  license as a Registered Nurse* Current in CPR, ACLS and PALS * Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities. * Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees. * Knowledgeable of policies and procedures specific to operating room nurse. *

Required Experience
