The Registration Tech, under the direction of an RN, as first contact with the Emergency Department demonstrates exemplary customer service skills on both the phone and check in window. He/she ensures accuracy in registration of each patient at the bedside. Collects co-payment for emergency services, after treatment has been initiated. Lab super user. Assists Nurses and Physicians in the admission and transfer of ED patients. Complies with BMCU Code of Conduct, TJC, EMTALA , CLIA and all Federal and State standards.

Required Skills

• High School Graduate
• Previous experience in an acute care setting, prefer ED and/or business office experience
• Current CPR certification
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and the department
• Ability to make decisions based on sound judgment
