We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Memory Care Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of our specialized dementia care home. This role is responsible for supervising, training, coaching, and supporting staff while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate is experienced in memory care, leads by example, and is passionate about delivering exceptional care to residents.
Essential Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of daily operations within the dementia care home.
Implement and administer employee policies and procedures.
Train and orient new staff; conduct ongoing education to maintain high standards of care.
Supervise staff performance, provide coaching and feedback, and complete regular evaluations.
Report concerns and recommendations to the Director of Health Care as needed.
Develop and lead programs for fall prevention and hydration management.
Communicate regularly with families and residents to provide updates and support transitions when necessary.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure holistic and continuous care for all residents.
Oversee and prepare for state inspections, surveys, internal audits, and quality assurance reviews.
Ensure accurate and compliant documentation, including MARs, incident reports, clinical records, and safety logs.
Participate in hands-on resident care when needed; model effective caregiving techniques and interventions.
Lead staff meetings, in-service trainings, and support professional development of Med Techs and Caregivers.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Certification as HHA, CNA, or CMA required.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of management experience in long-term care or a related field.
Previous experience working with memory care residents required.
3+ years in assisted living or boarding home setting preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with elderly residents.
Understanding of resident rights and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Ability to work collaboratively and foster a positive team culture.
Technical Proficiency:
Knowledge of clinical care procedures and documentation standards.
Ability to manage operational processes, goals, and compliance programs.
Proficient in basic technology tasks including printing, scanning, faxing, and computer use.
