As champions of the Memphis story, the Memphis Brand Initiative leads a concerted effort to bring the best techniques in digital, marketing, and communications together to bolster Memphis reputation on a local, national, and global level. We're looking for current college students who want to get hands-on experience in marketing and communications. Description: Communications interns will develop real world writing skills by assisting with the creation of various communications copy and supporting ongoing communications work. Opportunities: * Communications interns will develop real world writing skills by assisting with the creation of various communications copy including writing updates to one sheets, editing existing MBI documents, and writing articles for the WeAreMemphis.com blog. * Interns will accompany the Communications Specialist to local information meetings and gain experience on interviewing for PR purposes, question asking, and networking. * Additional duties will include monitoring of We Are Memphis social media profiles and overall Memphis digital ecosystem to support brand work. Qualifications: * Must be a junior or senior with an overall GPA of 2.5 studying Communications, English, Business, or related field. * Have strong writing and editing abilities and time management skills. * Some social media experience. * Applicants should have a genuine excitement for Memphis and eagerness to engage and learn more about this great city.
