    OVERVIEW

    Mendelson Firm, PLLC established in 1975, is a preeminent creditor rights law firm. Our practice areas include, but are not limited to, commercial litigation, commercial and retail collections, insurance subrogation, estate planning, business law, bankruptcy, and replevins. We represent a diverse group of clients across Tennessee and Mississippi.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Our firm is seeking a litigation associate to manage cases and support staff in a fast-paced environment. The litigation associate will perform a variety of duties including overseeing paralegals, administrative staff as well as building client relationships. The litigation associate will spend approximately 30 to 50 percent of their time in court.

    The successful candidate will provide the highest quality legal representation to our clients with fairness and respect, thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment, demonstrate exceptional legal research, writing and oral communication skills.

    The successful candidate must:

    -       Be a licensed Tennessee attorney or can waive in

    -       Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner

    -       Continually review and manage case files from inception through conclusion.

    -       Identify critical legal issues to move case to conclusion

    -       Draft petitions, discovery motions, and other pleadings

    -       Monitor discovery deadlines for responses and timeliness

    -       Perform document review of new matters at placement and during suit

    -       Develop and implement an appropriate discovery plan, including oversight and preparation of discovery responses for review by partner and then client

    -       Calendar and manage legal and court deadlines

    -       Investigate facts as requested by client and attorneys

    -       Manage and oversee court calendar including but not limited to trial preparation, subpoenas, exhibit lists, witness lists, witness management, etc.

    -       Maintain consistent communication with clients

    -       Ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff, third-parties and opposing counsel

    -       Legal research and preparation of legal memoranda.

    -       Review and understand client documents

    -        Lead and assist with the training and development of paraprofessional staff within the firm.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Licensed to practice law in Tennessee (or waive in), skilled in the ability to analyze case law and provide written and oral recommendations to clients and negotiate with opposing counsel; proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Lexis Nexis Research Tools; outstanding time management skills with the proven ability to work in a deadline-driven team environment.
