About the Role:
The Graduate Clinical Intern position at A Space For Us Counseling and Wellness Center is designed for graduate students seeking hands-on experience in an outpatient mental health setting. Interns will have the opportunity to develop their clinical skills while learning within a supportive, culturally responsive, and integrative environment.
Under appropriate supervision and in accordance with university internship or field-placement requirements, interns may gain experience with client engagement, assessments, treatment planning, clinical documentation, case consultation, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Interns will also be introduced to trauma-informed care, mindfulness, somatic techniques, and whole-person wellness practices.
This role is ideal for graduate students who are eager to learn, receptive to feedback, committed to professional growth, and passionate about providing compassionate and culturally responsive mental health care.

Responsibilities:
Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling services under clinical supervision
Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and case notes
Collaborate with supervisors and multidisciplinary team members on client care
Apply evidence-based therapeutic modalities to support client mental health goals
Participate in regular clinical supervision sessions and staff meetings
Adhere to ethical guidelines set by NASW, ACA, or applicable licensing boards
Requirements:
Currently enrolled in an accredited Master's program in Counseling, Social Work, or related field
Completion of required graduate coursework prior to internship placement
Strong interpersonal and active listening skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Familiarity with trauma-informed care, CBT, or other evidence-based practices
Reliable, self-motivated, and committed to client-centered care
Must meet program requirements for supervised clinical hours
