    Position Summary Premier Comprehensive Services is seeking a Community-Based Mental Health Therapist to provide direct behavioral health services to individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness within Georgia CORE Services. Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Therapist will provide assessments, treatment planning, individual and family therapy, crisis support, care coordination, and clinical documentation in accordance with DBHDD and Medicaid standards. This position requires a compassionate, ethical, clinically skilled professional who is comfortable working with vulnerable and underserved populations in community-based settings throughout Metro Atlanta. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, strong clinical judgment, trauma-informed care practices, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.

    Responsibilities

    Must be willing to provide services in COMMUNITY-BASED SETTINGS throughout Metro Atlanta and surrounding areas.

    Provide community-based mental health therapy services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

    Conduct behavioral health assessments, intake evaluations, reassessments, and treatment planning as assigned.

    Deliver individual, family, and supportive counseling interventions based upon individualized treatment goals.

    Complete timely, accurate, and audit-ready clinical documentation in accordance with DBHDD, Medicaid, and agency standards.

    Participate in treatment team meetings, case staffing, supervision sessions, and collaborative care coordination activities.

    Assist with crisis intervention, safety planning, referrals, discharge planning, and linkage to community resources.

    Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance at all times.

    Utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches when working with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness.

    Travel throughout assigned service areas to provide services in homes, schools, hospitals, shelters, office locations, and other approved community settings.

    Ensure all documentation is completed within required timeframes according to agency and DBHDD standards.

    Maintain compliance with CORE service guidelines, ethical standards, and Medicaid regulations.

    Participate in staff development trainings, supervision, quality assurance reviews, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

    Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, organization, and effective communication skills in all interactions.

    Qualifications

    Master's or Bachelor’s degree in a social science related field (ie counseling, social work, etc.)

    Active Georgia licensure preferred (LPC, LCSW, LMFT); associate licensed clinicians encouraged to apply.

    Experience in community mental health, behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, or case management preferred.

    Must obtain and maintain CPR and CPI certification; agency-supported training and recertification opportunities may be available for eligible employees.

    Must be clinically skilled, ethical, compassionate, and professionally equipped to work with vulnerable and underserved populations diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness in community-based settings.

    Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and clinical documentation skills required.

    Ability to function effectively in both community-based and office-based environments.

    Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, dependable cell phone, working computer, and reliable internet access required.

    Work authorization in the United States required.
