    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Our client, a well-known Ohio Law Firm is looking for a skilled Litigation Paralegal to join their team. The role of the Litigation Paralegal entails conducting investigations, researching facts, and preparing documents to provide assistance and support to the assigned attorney. The key responsibilities include effectively managing cases, and maintaining timely communication with clients and the attorney.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Case Management

    • Acquire, review, and organize medical records.
    • Investigate insurance coverage.
    • Prepare and maintain comprehensive summaries of damages, including medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage.
    • Log incoming mail on a daily basis.
    • Forward medical records to insurance carriers.
    • Draft necessary correspondence for case management.
    • Assist in verifying balances and resolving subrogation liens.
    • Prepare check requests, maintain records, and handle check mailing.
    • Support the attorney in preparing settlement documentation and disbursements.
    • Create disbursement summaries.

    - Communication

    • Maintain consistent and regular communication with clients to provide updates on case status.
    • Generate weekly reports.
    • Participate in monthly team meetings.
    • Provide support to other team members in their absence.
    • Achieve or surpass established goals.
    • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
    • Perform other assigned duties as required.

    Requirements: Skills:

    • Proficient in using MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • Knowledge of legal practices and procedures.
    • Familiarity with standard clerical and general office administration procedures.
    • Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
    • Competence in computer usage and related software applications.
    • Familiarity with research procedures.
    • Understanding of legal documentation preparation processes.

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
    • Paralegal certificate is mandatory.
    • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
    • This position is office-based, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule.
