    We are looking for a self-motivated, team player who is familiar with the world of construction and eager to work with our team, our manufacturers, and the area’s specifying community (architects, engineers, lighting designers…) to deliver top quality product, technical support and service.

    **
    Major functions include, but are not limited to:**

    • Develop mutually beneficial relationships with clients in the Omaha market so Mercer-Zimmerman is the agency of choice for lighting and controls products and services.
    • Conduct product trainings in the territory or at our manufacturers’ facilities to demonstrate the breadth of innovative lighting solutions available to the client.
    • Partner with our inside team to be the voice of the client through the bidding process, order entry and installation.
    • Maintain field intelligence on competitive activities and new product developments.

    The ideal candidate for this job will:

    • have long standing relationships with local AEC market in Nebraska and Iowa with the ability to develop relationships with emerging architects, engineers and construction companies.
    • have a proven, quantifiable track record of consistently exceeding sales goals.
    • have the ability to maintain and develop relationships with lighting manufacturers (existing relationships strongly desired).
    • have the ability to represent and promote over 100 controls and lighting manufacturers.
    • possess strong technical aptitude and/or electrical experience.
    • have experience utilizing a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) or similar software.
    • be proficient in Microsoft software including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • have the ability to work independently and meet goals with little supervision.

    **
    Education and Experience Requirements:**

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
    • Minimum of five years of technical sales experience within the lighting industry or selling into Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sectors - particularly in Omaha, Western Nebraska and Iowa.
