Mercury Plastics, Inc. is looking for a responsible, trustworthy, and reliable team player who will commit to long-term employment and has a passion for Human Resources. The right candidate must be able to interact with all levels of personnel in a multi-cultural organization. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Position requires multi-tasking and problem solving. Good attendance and being on time is essential. Bilingual English/Spanish is a must. Willing to travel occasionally to East Los Angeles location.
DUTIES
- Answering employee's questions
- Processing incoming mail/calls
- Creating and distributing documents, recordkeeping of employee personnel, medical, and training files
- Payroll
- Point of contact for benefit vendors/administrators
- Reporting temporary employee work hours and reconciling employment agency invoices
- Setting appointments for HR Manager and arranging meetings
- Preparing a variety of reports, spreadsheets, and memos
RECRUITMENT/NEW HIRE PROCESS
- Manage temporary employees
- Posting Job ads and organizing resumes and job applications
- Scheduling job interviews and assisting in the interview process for all departments
- Preparing new employee files and maintaining employee records up to date, including I-9 documents
- Conducting all new employee orientations
PAYROLL AND BENEFIT ADMINISTRATION
- Process temp employment agency payroll on a weekly basis
- Issue weekly timecards for all temporary employees
- Reconcile and track vacation and sick time records in Excel
- Answering temp employee payroll questions and correct pay discrepancies
- Approve temp employment agency invoices for payment
- Prepare and maintain all payroll invoice files and reconcile invoices
- Conducting benefit enrollments for newly eligible employees
- Assist in completing compensation and benefit documentation
RECORD MAINTENANCE
- Prepare hiring packets
- Assist in maintaining current HR files: personnel, medical, an training
- Updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status, and similar records
- Maintaining records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
- Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
- Complete termination paperwork and assist with exit interviews
WORKER'S COMPENSATION
- Complete DWC1 form
- Report injuries and follow up on injury
- Complete wage statement
