Overview
This role is perfect for individuals with a technical background and a passion for training and developing others. As a part of the Signal Solutions Business Unit, you will have the opportunity to help Mercury cultivate talent and build a strong talent pipeline. You will be based in Oxnard, CA.
Responsibilities
- Constructing, managing, and delivering technical content and courseware for technicians and assemblers.
- Determining the most suitable approach to training, including hands-on, simulation, videos, on-line, self-paced, etc.
- Creating assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities.
- Supervising the Technician Apprentice Program, ensuring successful completion of employees enrolled in the program while providing guidance and mentorship to those employees.
- Conducting or working with subject matter experts to deliver RF technician and assembler training.
- Analyzing other training requirements and making recommendations for needed training.
- Partnering with Mercury’s Leaning and Development team to ensure best practices.
- Introducing Lean training – 7S – initial and continuous training to operations team.
- Exploring and applying for state and federal training grants.
- Supporting the production floor during peak periods.
Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience as a technical trainer in an electronics manufacturing organization, aerospace and defense preferred.
- Degree in a pertinent technical field.
- Knowledge in instructional design for technical subjects.
- Capacity to address training needs through a combination of coursework and practical, hands-on, or self-paced training.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Outstanding communication skills and comfortable speaking to groups of employees.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) certification is a strong asset.
- Experience in course authoring tools such as Brainshark, Articulate, or Captivate.
- Technician experience.
- 6sigma green belt and 6sigma training.
- Experience as technical trainer in an RF/Microwave organization.
Salary info:
$30 - $45 / hr
