JOB SUMMARY
Mercy Church exists to make disciples who love God, love each other, and love our world. Under the oversight of the Pastor of Discipleship (PD), the Women’s Ministry Director (WMD) will oversee the Women’s Ministry of Mercy. This role is designed to provide leadership and structure to the Women's Ministry, empower women to take their next steps in following Jesus, and equip them to live on mission. This role and other assigned responsibilities will be accomplished in the following categories: Oversight of Women’s Ministry and Shepherding Mercy Women
QUALIFICATIONS
Due to the nature of this position, this role is suitable for female applicants who feel led to apply and have the skills and experience desired for this position. In order to be considered for this role, the applicant must:
Be a female of high character
Have a minimum of 3 years of experience leading (lay or staff position is acceptable) in a church/ministry setting (5+ years preferred)
Have experience leading, managing, and developing staff and/or volunteers
Be computer literate, with proficiency in internet applications and Google workspace
Have a strong theological foundation; a Bachelor’s degree is required, a Seminary degree (or equivalent experience) is preferred but not required
Have strong leadership, organizational, shepherding, communication, and teaching skills
Accept and agree with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a key leader in the discipleship ministries of Mercy, the WMD will play an integral role in the vision and direction of women’s equipping, care, and discipleship at Mercy Church. Under the oversight of the Pastor of Discipleship, and in cooperation with other relevant Department Directors/Pastors, the WMD will lead out in setting the vision and direction for connecting, equipping, and sending opportunities for the women of Mercy church. As the primary leader of women’s ministry at Mercy, the WMD will oversee the planning and execution of women’s discipleship at Mercy.
As a key leader in the ministry of Mercy, the WMD will play an integral role in ensuring that the women of Mercy are shepherded. The WMD must possess a heart to care for, support, disciple, and challenge women who are a part of Mercy. She must also see this as a collaborative responsibility. Meaning, she should collaborate with Mercy pastors and other leaders, both men and women, to shepherd the women of Mercy.
