I'm a nurse working three 12-hour day shifts per week (which days per week varies, but I prefer Tue/Wed/Thu). I have a son (11, 6th grade), and 2 daughters (9, 4th grade; 7, 2nd grade). On school days, I need a caregiver who can arrive at 6 AM while my children are still sleeping, help them get ready for school, and take them to their elementary school just a couple minutes away. Drop off time is flexible because they are enrolled in before-school SACC. They are also enrolled in after-school SACC, so pick-up time from school is flexible as well, but ideally by 6 PM. Then help them with dinner, shower, etc. before I arrive home from work by 8:30 PM. I generally have to work 2 weekends per month, for which I need a caregiver who can arrive at 6 AM and stay until I arrive home from work by 8:30 PM. I'm thinking $20/hour for weekend care since my children are fairly independent but $25/hour for weekday care because of the back-and-forth and short hours.
