In the last two years, Merit has entered into a period of strategic growth, recently closed on an investment in start-up Royalty Advocate and is evaluating additional acquisitions and organic projects. The Corporate Development Analyst works directly with the operations and finance/accounting teams to provide analytical and strategic support to the Company’s Sponsor, Management and the Board of Directors. In this role, this person will be involved in all strategic, financial and growth facets of the company and will have an incredible opportunity to learn. The Corporate Development Analyst reports directly to B-29 Family Holdings, LLC. Key Responsibilities

    • Create presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to support financial reviews, board meetings, M&A and special projects
    • Support exploration of new business ventures & strategic opportunities, conducting competitive research and financial analysis to build our position.
    • Analyze detailed financial data and communicate succinct analysis and recommendations to management to support optimal decision making.
    • Gather research and analyze internal and external data to develop fact-based and actionable recommendations and solutions.
    • Create and Analyze Key Performance Indicator (“KPI”) trends, highlighting issues and explaining variances.
    • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and understand return on investment (“ROI”).
    • Manage budgeting and financial forecasting processes and associated modeling tools.
    • Build, manage, maintain and optimize business intelligence tools and dashboard reports.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the company and articulate financial concepts to non-finance operations managers in a clear and concise manner. Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university.
    • 1–3 years of investment banking or similar corporate development experience (e.g., business operations at a startup, driving change in a company).
    • Exceptional critical thinking skills, ability to decompose complex problems, prioritize issues, and implement sensible solutions.
    • Self-motivated and have the capacity to work with limited supervision in a fluid, fast-paced environment.
    • Passionate about quality, performance, reliability, and scalability.
    • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
    • Must demonstrate ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members and management.
    • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Think creatively, be highly driven, organized, and have the highest standards of accuracy and precision.
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Power BI is a plus.
    • Executive presence / maturity.
    • Occasional travel required.
