    Internships have the possibility of being extended into the fall semester and/or becoming full-time permanent positions upon the intern's graduation.

    AVAILABLE INTERNSHIPS INCLUDE:

    Designer/Developer Intern

    The Developer Intern will develop the skills to design and implement multi-terabyte operational marketing databases that integrate our client's data with demographic data for prospects and consumers.Our databases typically house a hundred million individuals and billions of transactions. The Intern will be immersed in the development and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server database solutions to meet client business objectives.

    Operations Analyst Intern

    The Operations Analyst Intern is a member of an operations support team focused on providing operational excellence and delivery to a world-class commercial clients or non-profit organizations. The Intern supports the clients’ production marketing database and database processes which the client uses for various direct marketing efforts and/or data analysis. The Intern will interact regularly with a wide range of internal Merkle teams to support the transition and ongoing maintenance of a solution.

    Business Systems Analyst (BSA) Intern

    The BSA Intern is a key liaison between high profile clients and the Merkle Technology team. This is an extremely visible position, as the BSA elicits and drives requirements at multiple levels of detail for Merkle clients. The BSA should have a strong attention to detail and is entrusted with providing internal and external consultative expertise, accurately documenting requirements, and defining acceptance criteria for the project. Solutions may incorporate traditional marketing data and platforms, digital marketing data and platforms, and integration of various offline and online media and channels.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications vary depending on the internship position.

    • Rising seniors pursuing a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related IT field with strong grades both in the major and overall
    • Relational and dimensional database concepts; SQL and database programming
    • Experience with writing detailed requirement documentation is a plus
    • Experience working with IT methodologies (e.g. Systems Development Life Cycle  (SDLC) and/or Waterfall, Agile) is a plus
    • Familiarity with database marketing and direct marketing concepts, a plus
    • Ability to explain and present complicated/advanced analytical methodology and results to non-technical audiences
    • Must be able to communicate effectively by phone; write clear emails and memos; be friendly, cheerful, and patient; and enjoy explaining complicated concepts to others 
    • Hard-working and eager to learn 
    • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize responsibilities and work efficiently in a fast-pace environment
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Keen problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities
