Position Summary:
The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing and leading DevOps initiatives to support the organization.This role will support new and existing infrastructure both on premise and in public clouds.The Senior DevOps Engineer is expected to be an amalgamation of an evangelist, technologist, developer and automation and systems engineer.This position will be responsible for understanding the organizations compliance needs and automate to meet these specifications.
Essential Functions:
·Maintains existing DevOps tools, processes and applications
·Writes and maintains code to solve automation problems
·Maintains and develops CI/CD pipelines
·Evaluate and implement DevOps new tools, frameworks and best practices
·Automate business processes, server management and application deployment
·Evangelizes DevOps tooling and practices
·Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
·Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information systems preferred or equivalent combined education and experience
·Server Administration (Windows and/or Linux) experience is required
·Five (7)+ years in Systems Administration or Software Development required
·3 - 5 years of experience required in a DevOps or related role
Summary of Qualifications:
·Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub, Octopus Deploy or Azure DevOps
·Advanced scripting and programming experience with PowerShell, Python and REST APIs
·A background in Windows Server Administration and Windows Server technologies is desired
·Bonus points for experience with containerization technologies, configuration management and public clouds
·Excellent communication skills are required
·Ability to prioritize, multitask, operate independently and adapt to changing objectives
·A detail oriented individual who can define new processes while leverage existing
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
·Work is in an office environment; sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time; works with computer equipment for prolonged periods of time
·Some stress may occur
·Travel is not generally required
·This position reports to an assigned Manager and supervises no one
