    This Dealer Relationship Manager is responsible for establishing contact with and identifying new dealership partners, growing existing business, supporting marketing efforts, staying aware of market and competitive trends, and guiding dealerships through onboarding and training activities.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Markets the bank’s recreation lending program to qualified dealers through telephone, trade shows, email and other areas.  Trains dealers on the recreation lending program including the proper use of Merrick Bank contracts and underwriting procedures to provide them with the best opportunity to have positive experiences with Merrick Bank. Act as a liaison between the dealers and the credit department when dealers have questions or concerns. Maintain existing dealer relationships through follow up contact and assisting with questions and program needs.  Answers incoming phone calls from dealers with questions about Merrick Bank’s recreation lending program.  Make outbound phone calls to bring new dealers into the program and/or generate new dealers into the marketing database. Prepare and review new dealer agreements to recommend for approval. Assists Marketing Manager in dealer sales programs and provide input as to how to make the program more effective and efficient.     Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to assisting other departments in recreation lending to help insure that the program as a whole is a success. COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS & REGULATIONS: 

    • Responsible for complying with all of the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.
    • Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.
    • Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • BA/BS degree in finance, marketing, business management, or communications required, or four (4) years of equivalent broad experience accepted in lieu of required degree.
    • Five (5) years’ experience in a credit-related field with marketing experience is required.

    SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to effectively market the recreation lending program to qualified dealerships.  Strong communication skills and negotiating skills are needed.  A thorough understanding of the credit aspect of the recreation lending program must be acquired.       
    • Ability to set and reach goals in relation to dealer sign ups, applications, loan volume and dealer efficiency.  
    • Ability to help create and implement marketing strategies for the program. Must be a self-starter and consistently demonstrate a strong drive to sell the program and build relationships with dealers. Needs to be able to work with limited supervision.
    • Ability to solve practical problems.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.         
    • Experience with, and demonstrated skill at, the following: Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Power-point, E-Mail, Internet and other software used to run the business.     
    • Effective planning, organization, time management, and problem solving skills.  Including travel arrangements to trade shows and effective follow-up to trade show marketing. 
    • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as sound knowledge of recreation lending policies and guidelines and being able to communicate them effectively to dealerships.  Effective and professional communication with coworkers, other departments and all outside relationships of the bank.        
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure.  Skill at handling a variety of assignments simultaneously.  Flexibility, ability, and willingness to work at a rapid pace in strict time frames.
    • General knowledge of banking regulations
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with CRM software reporting and utilization preferred

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    Requires travel to company, partner, or vendor locations for various job duties.  More frequent travel is often required September through March and occasional travel March through August.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

    This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. There will be times when this role requires the ability to lift boxes and documents, setup trade show booths, and stand for long periods of time.

    This classification requires heightened security awareness to safeguard the Bank's data, including customer non-public personal information.  This security level means that the job includes exposure to all categories of Bank data, including customer non-public personal information.
