PROJECT DESIGN ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Performs mechanical design of pressure vessel parts, components and assemblies to meet requirements of assigned projects.
• Creates CAD models, including part and assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs) and calculations to support manufacturing.
• Ensures designs meet latest ASME Section VIII Division 1 Pressure Vessel Code requirements.
• Participates in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs and codes.
• Ensures designs conform to all applicable Mersen and customer specifications and standards.
• Ability to work with various departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan
• Account for possible project challenges or constraints and proactively seek to manage challenges

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 2 years mechanical design experience
• Proficiency with CAD and Microsoft Office

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S.M.E Mechanical Engineering or B.S.E.T. Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks
• Strong fabrication/welding knowledge
• Understanding of ASME Section VIII Division 1 rules
• Understanding of pressure vessel design
• Understanding of JD Edwards/Oracle ERP system
