    Job Description

    Messer Rockefeller & Fort PLLC, is seeking an experienced associate to join our team in our Frisco office. This position provides legal services encompassing a wide range of municipal laws with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include, among other things, attending planning & zoning meetings, city council meetings and transactional work involving land use and developmental regulations, municipal ordinances and resolutions, economic development, contracts, open records requests and real estate transactions. The position requires sound judgment and good technical skills. The successful candidate will be analytical, thorough and detail-oriented. Prior employment in a law firm representing local governmental entities or in a municipality and familiarity with local government processes is a plus. The candidate must have excellent organizational skills and be proficient and knowledgeable in Microsoft Software, document management, and file and calendar management.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Currently licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas;
    • 5 or more years of experience practicing in the areas of municipal law required; or
    • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
