    Role Overview

    The Business Analyst 3 serves as a senior Metadata Ingestion Analyst supporting enterprise data and analytics initiatives within a healthcare environment. This role bridges technical data systems and business users, focusing on metadata governance, data glossary development, and enabling data-driven decision-making through advanced analytics and AI-supported insights.

    Key Responsibilities

    Metadata & Data Analysis

    Gather and translate business requirements into structured metadata and data glossary definitions

    Extract, analyze, and enrich metadata from multiple complex data sources

    Support data lineage, data quality, and enterprise data catalog initiatives

    Use SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis

    Business Analysis & Process Improvement

    Analyze business systems and workflows to identify improvement opportunities

    Develop solution options, including cost/benefit and ROI analysis

    Support business process reengineering and alignment with enterprise strategy

    Document requirements, workflows, and system specifications

    Data Visualization & Reporting

    Collaborate with stakeholders to develop visualizations and reporting outputs

    Support analytics development through data glossary validation and enrichment

    Ensure outputs meet governance, compliance, and reporting standards

    AI & Data Enablement

    Develop AI prompt strategies for metadata retrieval and synthesis

    Create reusable prompt templates and query frameworks

    Validate AI-generated outputs and ensure accuracy and data integrity

    Guide non-technical users in leveraging AI for data insights

    Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

    Act as liaison between technical teams and non-technical program staff

    Explain complex data concepts in simple, business-friendly language

    Provide guidance on interpreting data trends and analytics outputs

    Support cross-functional collaboration with IT, data engineering, and program teams

    Training & Data Literacy

    Develop and deliver training on data glossary tools and metadata usage

    Promote data literacy and adoption of analytics tools across the organization

    Create documentation, tutorials, and knowledge-sharing materials

    Required Qualifications

    8+ years of experience in business analysis or data-focused analyst roles

    Strong experience with metadata management, data glossary development, and data lineage

    8+ years of experience translating complex data requirements into actionable outputs

    Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis

    Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

    Experience working with cross-functional teams in complex data environments

    Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with business intelligence and data warehousing

    Experience in healthcare or regulated environments (e.g., HHS)

    Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks

    Experience with tools such as Informatica EDC or Axon

    Experience promoting data literacy and training users

    Experience with AI prompt development and metadata-driven AI workflows
