Metal Stud Framer job duties
The primary responsibility of a Metal Stud Framer is to install metal studs used to create the framework for walls in commercial and industrial buildings. Metal Stud Framers use hand tools, power tools and various other equipment to complete their work.
In addition to their primary responsibility, more Metal Stud Framer job duties typically include:
Reading and understanding blueprints
Preparing, configuring, and assembling the required tools, including ladders, measuring tapes, hammer drill machines and straightedges
Marking and cutting the metal studs based on the blueprints
Drawing chalk lines on metal frames to level them up
Complying with relevant regulatory practices related construction projects and safety requirements
Assembling metal stud framing
Carrying construction materials and metal stud frames/drywall from one place to another within the construction site and assisting forklift operators with the transportation process
Installing metal stud framing and drywall
Inspecting completed work and verifying it with the design and blueprint
Attaching metal frames with preconfigured horizontal and vertical wallboards
Preparing small openings into the metal frames with drilling tools to make space for electric lines and outlets
Supervising relevant construction workers
Using different fastening tools, such as screws, nails, studs, and connectors
Installing decorative trim for windows, doors, walkways, and other places
Reporting everyday progress to the construction supervisors or asset owner
Inspecting the quality of the procured metal stud frames if needed
