This position is located in Cincinnati, OH

Role Description – Material Quoting and Subcontracting Agent

We are seeking a capable person to handle multiple responsibilities within our Quotation Department while also supporting our Purchasing and Subcontracting Department. Must be “Hands-On” and have the ability to read blue prints and specifications in order to purchase raw material and commercial items. Familiarity with subcontracted services such as Heat Treatment, Special Coatings, Non-Destructive Testing is a must in order to procure additional job requirements for our precision machined components, assemblies and special machinery. Will also be handling other aspects of purchasing to include plant and machinery suppliers, maintenance and repair. Must be able to negotiate with suppliers to obtain quality products with the best pricing and on-time delivery. Need to understand purchasing in an ISO 9001 environment. Will be interfacing with Sales and Quotations, Job Start Up, Processing, Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Maintenance, Shipping Receiving and Accounting.

Requirements:

• Must have 3-5 years experience in manufacturing purchasing arena
• Four Year degree or two year technical degree a plus
• Ability to review systems and lead major initiatives to support improvements in the Purchasing Department
• Understanding of Manufacturing and ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
• Prepare Request for Quote Packages, Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders with detailed quality requirements when necessary, Change Notices, Return Authorizations, Supplier Back Charges and ability to review supplier paperwork for accuracy.
• Research and cultivate new supplier relationships to support quality and production goals
• Evaluate supplier bids to validate compliance with bid and proposal requests
• Ability to negotiate contracts, vendor terms and conditions
• Track and expedite all orders to ensure timely delivery so the production schedule is maintained
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering and suppliers in support of vendor corrective actions
• Responsible for following , updating and maintaining written procedures in addition to making improvements in these procedures and maintaining reference manuals that document the primary responsibilities and interactions of the role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with Metalex teammates as well as outside suppliers
• Strong organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to work with little supervision and to have the flexibility and willingness be able to deal with changing priorities
• Ability to lead and to be lead
• Resolve paperwork, cost, quality and delivery issues with Suppliers, and internal issues with Shipping / Receiving and Accounting
• Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure a must
• Must be Customer Service oriented with a commitment to making customer related improvements and to work with pace to resolve issues

• Dispatch In House trucks and couriers as required
• Have an understanding of government contracts regarding FARS and DFARs as it relates to purchasing requirements and be familiar with International Traffic in Arms Regulations
• Understand Non-disclosure agreements and work with suppliers for compliance if required
• AS 400 experience a plus
• MS Excel, Word, required-- Outlook Calendar, Access, Sharepoint experience a plus
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must be able to pass a drug test
