Major Responsibilities/Activities:

• Set up and calibrate equipment.
• Conduct tests with appropriate NDT technique.
• Interpret, evaluate and document results.
• Must be thoroughly familiar with the camera, cranks, guide tubes and proper use of collimaters/survey meters, dosimitry and limitations of the method in which certified.
• Must be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the employer.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Operate and maintain radiographic equipment as necessary and where applicable.
• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Obtain and analyze information skillfully.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Field duties require outdoor work in a plant or fabrication yard atmosphere.
• Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and clients.
• Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
• Working in remote areas
• Must be physically fit and able to carry 50 lbs frequently
• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
• May be at more than one jobsite in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
• May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
• Call out work required, nights, weekends and holidays
• May be required to work extended hours as needed over 8 hrs per day, not to exceed 16hrs in any shift.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Completion of an approved 40 Hr. Radiation Safety Program.
• Completion of approved 80 Hr. RT Level I & II Training.
• Previous RT level II Certification or the ability to certify.
• Texas Industrial Radiographer Certification or equivalent.
