    Position Overview

    The Metrics Analyst will support the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA) at the National Science Foundation by analyzing the effectiveness of communication campaigns and outreach initiatives. The role focuses on tracking performance metrics across digital platforms, events, media outreach, and stakeholder engagement to help improve NSF communication strategies.

    Key Responsibilities

    Communications Strategy Support

    Assist in developing communication strategies aligned with NSF’s mission and national priorities.

    Support audience-specific engagement plans and integrated communications campaigns.

    Evaluate campaign performance and recommend improvements based on audience feedback and analytics.

    Data Collection & Analysis

    Collect and analyze data from events, digital campaigns, social media, press coverage, and outreach initiatives.

    Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of communication strategies and programs.

    Identify trends and insights to support decision-making and improve engagement.

    Reporting & Insights

    Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs).

    Track digital engagement performance and campaign outcomes.

    Provide recommendations to improve communication effectiveness and audience reach.

    Collaboration & Best Practices

    Work closely with communications teams, writers, editors, and digital media staff.

    Ensure analytics insights inform future campaigns and content strategies.

    Stay updated on best practices in digital analytics, media monitoring, and performance evaluation.

    Required Qualifications

    Minimum 8 years of professional experience in communications analytics or metrics analysis.

    Experience evaluating communications campaigns and measuring outreach effectiveness.

    Experience developing and analyzing performance metrics for science-focused or research organizations.

    Strong analytical, reporting, and data visualization skills.
