    The DIRECTOR, INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES is responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of the enterprise-wide business systems, infrastructure systems and networks; ensuring high levels of functionality, reliability, availability, performance, and business alignment. This position will also be responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, effective IT disaster recovery capabilities and problem management and resolution.

     

     

    This individual will develop and implement standards, procedures and operational IT processes.  They will oversee, coordinate, and monitor all support, administration, and operational management activities.  The successful candidate will proactively identify problem and opportunity areas; continuously assessing and making recommendations for improvement.  They will plan, direct and lead initiatives associated with the implementation of technologies to support business objectives.

     

     

    As a member of the Corporate IT team you will have full access to our investment in training, software, and hardware from market leading vendors.  Working out of our INDEPENDENCE, OH corporate headquarters office, you will apply proven communication, analytical, problem-solving and architecture design skills to further mature Covia’s infrastructure operations and maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

     

     

    THE SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Provides leadership and management in the planning and ongoing management of infrastructure operations, production support, systems and application administration and desktop support.
    • Develops, deploys, and continuously seeks to improve all aspects of the infrastructure operations processes.
    • Ensures the infrastructure is designed and managed to achieve and maintain high levels of reliability and performance.
    • Establishes, monitors, and analyzes performance metrics and service level agreements to ensure business and customer needs are being properly met.
    • Accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; ability to marshal resources to accomplish objectives and goals.
    • Ensures Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and effective disaster recovery capabilities of the IT infrastructure.

     

     

    THE SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 7+ years management experience in a multisite (10+) enterprise is required; an environment with industrial control systems is highly desired.
    • 10+ years of hands on experience troubleshooting, supporting and problem-solving within complex network/systems infrastructures.
    • Strong understanding of the ITIL framework; certification highly desired.
    • Experience with IT Service Management ticketing systems; ServiceNow preferred.
    • Extensive knowledge of Office 365, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS and SQL Server; certification(s) within these disciplines highly desired.
    • Experience supporting virtualized environments; VMware and Nutanix preferred.
    • Knowledgeable of advanced networking concepts, protocols, switching/routing, VLANs, SSL / IPSec, Next Generation Firewalls, VPNs, VoIP and SD-WAN solutions.
    • Knowledge and experience with one or more cybersecurity control frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO, and CIS) highly desired.
    • Self-motivated and self-directed; dedicated to meeting expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
    • Uses critical thinking and good judgement to understand and resolve complex problems; ability to thrive in rapidly changing environment under minimum supervision.
    • Experience training, coaching and mentoring staff members highly desired.
    • Tactful with strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization; as well as, individuals outside the organization.
    • Ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Experience leading projects and perseveres when faced with resistance or setbacks.
    • Demonstrated capability in developing and managing budgets.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive internal and external information.

     

     

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related computer field strongly preferred.
    • 5+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Advanced technical certification(s) are preferred.

     

     

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Up to ten percent to locations outside Ohio and training classes.

  • Qualifications

     

    • Ability to perform the duties of the job safely, efficiently and in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations without direct supervision, including the ability to operate required vehicles or equipment.

    • Must successfully pass the examinations of MetroLink Operating Rules for MOW employees, and other safety rules, within the qualification period, and annually as required.  Must observe all applicable Operating Rules, Safety Rules, Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions in the exercise of their duties.

    • Ability to obtain certification in CPR, First Aid and other safety practices. Required training to meet certification will be paid for by Metro and conducted during normal work hours.

    • LICENSE: Possession of a current, Missouri or Illinois valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and all required endorsements.

     

    MEDICAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.  Successful completion of a DOT Physical.
