    Covia Corporation has immediate opening for a PLANT OPERATOR POSITION at our CLEBURNE, TX plant. Qualified individuals have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and progress to operating mobile and stationary equipment.

      

     

    THE SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

     

    • Comply with applicable MSHA regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and procedures applying to the worker or person that are part of a safety and health management system for the mine
    • Carry out the activities in a way that does not expose the worker or someone else to an unacceptable level of risk
    • Adhere to site procedures and instructions given by supervisors
    • Operate equipment in a safe manner which is most efficient and reduces damage, downtime, and quality issues
    • Complete required paperwork in an orderly, accurate, and professional fashion
    • Assist with any continuous improvement projects as necessary
    • Perform all other duties as needed or assigned

     

     

     

    THE SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • High School diploma or GED required
    • Previous experience in an industrial environment is a plus
    • Basic computer skills and data entry are required
    • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is a plus
    • Previous experience within mining operations a plus
    • Must possess the ability to perform in a physically demanding environment
    • Qualified candidates must be available for shift work, weekends and overtime.

    ESSENTIAL OUTCOMES:

     

    • Provide customer service to both internal and external customers regarding proper documentation required by Payroll in order to process informational request(s) utilizing BSD Policies and Procedures, Bargaining Unit Contracts, personal computer, and source documents to validate accruals and troubleshoot discrepancies.
    • Provide reports, monitor, and maintain records of all Federal, State, and Local tax transactions covering weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of payroll tax related information.
    • Provide oversight and direction to bargaining unit employees. Responsible for training of current and new employees when necessary, notification of policy and/or contract changes, and minimum use of overtime. Provide feedback to employees on job performance and attendance through oral and written communications. Schedule and prepare agenda and facillate staff meetings as needed.
    • Approves wire-transfers and check requests for weekly payments of payroll deductions.  Analyzes and oversees reconciliation of payroll liability accounts and payroll related journal entries utilizing system controls.
    • Review, analyze, and monitor payroll input data and source documents to ensure compliance with BSD Policies and Procedures, Bargaining Unit Contracts, and Federal, State, and Local Tax Codes and furnish accurate and timely payroll checks.
    • Assists Manager of Payroll in testing and implementing payroll system changes, updates, and preparation of payroll procedures.
    • Assists in testing KRONOS software upgrades testing and works with IT to test program changes.
