JOB ROLE SUMMARY
The E-Learning Instructional Designer/Trainer is accountable for developing/updating the delivery of materials across multi-media platforms including classroom, lecture, webcast, video conference, web-based training and SOP. Must have strong technical writing skills, must be able to work independently, communicate effectively and be flexible and adaptable to rapid changes in scope and schedules. Training includes developing training materials and delivering user centric training in a variety of methods. This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Designs, develops, implements and delivers digital and classroom training.
- Identifies, plans, creates, designs, tests, implements, delivers, supports, and maintains effective and interactive digital learning opportunities and training activities involving existing and emerging digital technology applications (e.g., e-learning, web-based learning, mobile application learning, podcasting, virtual classroom, videos, tutorials, etc.).
- Applies knowledge of adult learning principles utilizing innovative solutions that meet organizational educational needs.
- Curriculum includes but not limited to job skills, technology, safety compliance, regulatory, customer service, career development and leadership programs.
- Converts instructor-led training (ILT) to e-learning based content.
- Facilitates classroom and on-line training including new employee orientation programs.
- Provides functional and technical expertise to end users of company learning management system (LMS).
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Information Technology or related degree and Five (5) years of experience with development and design of digital learning applications for corporate training.
- At least Two (2) years of experience utilizing adult learning principles facilitating classroom training. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
- Demonstrated knowledge of designing competency based learning paths.
- Construction industry experience a plus
