InterMetro Industries is seeking a Performance Excellence Manager for our manufacturing facility located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The Performance Excellence Manager develops and implements lean manufacturing initiatives designed to yield improvement in manufacturing processes, efficiency, maintenance, quality, and safety. This position presents a leadership opportunity for driving the continuous improvement program within Wilkes-Barre Manufacturing.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs and implements lean manufacturing initiatives that contribute to achievement of operational goals and strategies within the facility.
- Coordinates and leads improvement teams with a core focus on elimination of non-value added activities; Activities include Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen, SMED events, and other lean manufacturing activities to increase productivity, throughput, safety, on-time performance, and quality.
- Gathers data and develops strategies to track success of process improvement events.
- Troubleshoots problems and implements corrective actions through root cause analysis.
- Develops appropriation requests and submits justifications for capital related project expenses.
- Ensures that project and department milestones and goals are met within approved budget.
- Works on other cross functional teams to plan, implement, lead and/or execute actions that will assist operations within the plant.
- Develops and implements strategy for the following areas: Capital Budget; Plant Renovation; Plant OEE, and Maintenance Capability Improvement.
- Has full responsibility for planning, monitoring, and managing departmental budget.
- Supervises work of others, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff, and overseeing their productivity. May offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments, but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.
- Ensures all current and new employees are trained in the Code of Business Ethics, in its meaning and application.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
- Eight + years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
- TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma implementation expertise
- Safety analysis with demonstrated compliance to federal, state, and local EHS regulations and strict adherence to company health and safety practices.
- Excellent mathematical, project management, and communication skills
