FIBER TECHNOLOGY ROTATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM:
MetroNet will be starting its spring of 2020 rotational training cycle soon. We are seeking candidates to participate in a rotational training program where new university graduates will quickly progress through multiple MetroNet departments in order to obtain real life hands on experience enabling the participant to quickly contribute to the overall success of the company. This will allow the participant to gain valuable personal experience that might otherwise take many years to obtain. The rotations will provide experience designing fiber optic cable networks, working with utility owners and permitting agencies to obtain approval to install our cables, working in the field to inspect, observe and provide direction to actual construction crews while learning to plan their work and solve problems encountered while constructing fiber optic cable networks. There will also be a rotation where the participant is involved with the business aspects of major construction projects. This may involve contract management, invoice review and approval, materials acquisition, warehouse management, progress reporting, cost reporting and analysis of all aspects of the project. The program is planned to take 24 months to complete all of the rotations. Two of the rotations will be in our Evansville, IN Headquarters and two of the rotations will be in one or more of our field offices. We currently have offices in Indianapolis, IN, Lexington KY, Elburn, IL, Bloomington, IL, Davenport, IA, Lansing, MI and Rochester MN. Other cities are being added each year.

JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Vice President of Construction and Maintenance and to local managers assigned to supervise each rotation. The Rotational Associate will learn and participate in the day to day responsibilities in the rotational area assigned. The Rotational Associate will quickly move from an entry level, trainee in each of the defined rotations to a fully engaged contributor in each organization with an ability to work semi-independently.

COMPLETE AN APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTH ROTATION IN EACH OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
In the FIBER OPTIC CABLE NETWORK DESIGN rotation you will learn computer mapping and design requirements needed to design actual networks to be constructed.
In the CABLE INSTALLATION PERMITTING rotation you will learn the rules for attaching cables to utility poles and the process for applying for approval to attach to the poles. You will also learn to look at utility poles to determine suitability for attaching and learn to evaluate other route options based on feedback from the pole owners. Other permitting responsibilities may include working with railroads and departments of transportation to obtain approval to cross their property or facilities.
In the FIELD INSPECTION rotation you will spend your days working on an active projects with construction contractors on live fiber optic projects. where you will learn to understand design drawings and what it takes to actually get the network installed per the design and within the project schedule and budget.
In the PROJECT CONTROLS rotation you will work with a Project Controls Manager in a Field construction office to understand construction contracts, track progress and manage project schedules, monitor and manage the project budget, resolve contractor invoicing and payment issues, analyze and provide support for claims against the contractors, assist in inventory control and warehouse management.
